Miri Restaurants: Chang Man Cafe – Authentic Sibu Cuisine
A lot of stalls can claim to have the authentic foo chow kampua mee but few can actually achieve the true taste of Sibu’s kampua mee. Fortunately for me, my sis in law brought us to this place in Miri that has brought back the good memories of me enjoying a good plate of Sibu Kam Pua Mee ~~ if you are in Miri ~~ you can now eat the flavour of your Sibu childhood memories ~~
Chang Man Cafe which is a kopitiam with a few stores gathered together has a special stall that hails originally from Sibu.
Seriously ~ their lau su fen and wonton (bien nit) is a must try too!
Gorgeous little wontons ~~ ready to be enjoyed ~~
Oh my kam pua lau su fen ~~ mmm ~~ the lard taste makes this epic ~~ you can choose to add black sauce as well ~~
They also have cao cai mee fen soup ~~ which was alright ~~
You can never truly tasted Sibu Foo Chow cuisine if you haven’t tried a decent ding pian hu ~~~ delicious rice noodles that are cooked by scraping the sides of the wok ~~~ somebody should make a video of this! Chang Man’s version is very satisfyingly good!
I also must mention that the gong pia stuffed with minced pork is LEGIT! Thumbs up to this!
They also have very good pork spare parts soup ~~~ mmmm ~~ I’ll enjoy this with the kampua mee~~ perfect combo!
The Kampua mee is the star of the show to be honest ~~ really the main reason we are here ~ and we are not disappointed – this is a genuine authentic Sibu Kampua Mee ~~ no joke. LEGIT!
They have stir fried bee hoon with wine but I felt it lacked the kick ~ it has a hint but I wish the wine flavour was stronger.
Tomato Kway Teow is not bad ~~~ but I’ll rather have more Kam Pua Mee ~~
Chang Man can be quite full during breakfast so be sure to come early ~~~ they don’t open till lunch time I think so its best to arrive here early in the morning. They are located at https://goo.gl/maps/q8bwbWj8eG32 near Sun City.
Follow the map to find Chang Man Cafe – just right next to Sun City
