Kota Kinabalu is indeed one of the best places to hunt for good food and relax by the beach or waterfront but most would rave to you about the amazing sunsets of KK! Recently in March I was in KK to check out the best places to have cocktails, food and sunset! Here's the three places for the best sunsets in Kota Kinabalu especially for those who love to hashtag #sunsetporn #beautifulskies #cocktailsandsunset on instagram! Despite the hazy conditions - I still got to enjoy pretty good sunsets - while pigging out on the yummy food and thirst quenching cocktails ~~ *burp*

The Breeze Beach Club at Pacific Sutera Hotel

With awesome views of the Sutera Harbour and situated by the swimming pool of the Pacific Sutera Hotel, Breeze Beach Club sports a killer view as well as live DJ music and a seafood bbq spread while you sip cocktails during the sunset!

Chilling by the beach and harbour ~~ ahhh ~~

In house or guest DJs playing some hip music while you chillax ~~

Lots of yummy seafood and bbq goodness! *drools* The all you can eat seafood bbq buffet is only RM69 nett!

Oh I must mention that I had an awesome pampering session at both Mandara Spa at Magellan Sutera Resort before chillaxing at the Beach Bar! You get brilliant seaviews from the window while you enjoy your pampering sessions here! They use premium Elemis products from UK, famous for their anti aging properties for massages, spa and facials. Very professional staff who know how to pamper you to the max!

Chavana Spa is another great sister spa of Mandara Spa located at Pacific Sutera - also using quality Elemis products! I had an excellent time in both Mandara and Chavana Spa so if you really want to pamper or treat someone for a special occasion - get them a spa/massage/facial treatment here~~ be it a couples spa or ladies day out spa ~~~ then followed by great sunset at the Beach Bar!

Sunset Bar Shangri La Tanjung Aru

A popular spot for beachside weddings, Sunset Bar is one of the most popular places in KK for sunset views - in fact - so popular that they have a surcharge (which includes drinks) to enter the sunset bar. This is to ensure that the hotel guests and the paying patrons can have peace and quiet - safe from the throngs of tourists that swamp over here thanks to the popularity. Nevertheless - this hasn't stop non-paying tourists from hanging around outside the sunset bar to take sunset photos for free.

Sunset Bar usually has live band playing while serving a range of bites and cocktails ~~ they are pretty famous for their Long Island Iced Tea and succelent satays ~~

One of the things I like about Sunset Bar are their lounge sofas. It was raining in the late afternoon so the floor's a bit wet ~~ but nevertheless it doesn't deter lots of guests who sit around to enjoy the view and sunset ~~

These Lounge Sofas are the perfect place to take those shots for your instagram ~~ or to doze off ~~~ Zzzzzzzz snoreeeeee ~~~ seriously comfy man ~~~

There's tables as well for those who prefer to sit down and chat with their friends instead of lounging

The famous satays with peanut sauce ~~ hmmm ~~~ Cocktails or Beer anyone?

Their mixed skewers aren't just Instagram worthy but tastes good too ~~~ *drools*

I love coconut juice ~~~ but Sunset Bar makes it even better with rum ~~~ ahhh ~~

This guy sitting right in front of me was busy playing with his phone the whole time ~~~ don't think he's enjoying the view much ~~ such a shame.

Enjoy the sunset ~~~ despite hazy day ~~ still got a pretty good view ~~~

Azure Pool Bar & Cafe Le Meridien

Azure Pool Bar & Cafe is located at the pool area of Le Meridien Hotel. Strategically placed to let you enjoy the waterfront sunset from higher ground. Azure serves a good mix of local and Western cuisine by the poolside.

Their XO Sauce Fried Rice is really good ~~~

You seriously cannot say no to their gorgeous juicy Angus Beef Burger ~~~ *drools*

The sunset does make the burger taste even better!

Good food and cocktails by the poolside with beautiful sunset ~~ what more can you ask for?

A different vantage point for a different sunset experience at Le Meridien's Azure. You can also get these view from Le Meridien Sea View rooms. I had the pleasure to stay in their executive club level rooms and the views were fantastic!
