Selamat Hari Raya

Selamat Hari Raya Adilfitri to all my friends all over the world. This is one of my favourite times of the year and let's face it...it's where you are invited to so many open houses and you can savour the tastiest Malay foods all in a few days time.

For those who are not so familiar with Bruneian food. Here are some examples of kick ass Bruneian cuisine. Delicious~~!

First up is the tasty appetizer. The mighty Karipap or curry puff. It's potatoes and meat wrapped with pastry and deep fried. Tasty! Ahhh!

Next is the Nasi Kuning (Turmeric Rice) and one of my favourite beef rendang! Beef that is cooked till it's soft with spices. Hmmmmmmmmmmm....

Satays. Hmmmmm...

Lemang. Rice cooked in bamboos and pandan leaves - smoked and roasted. Usually served with curry. Yum!

Lemang and Ketupats are best served with curry or satay sauce.

And how could I forget the most famous dish of all. Coconut Rice with Sambal and Fried Chicken.


Last but not least it's something that's pure Bruneian.

Ambuyat. You really need to learn how to eat this thing. It takes skill and method to enjoy this traditional Bruneian dish.

One of Brunei's favourite drinks. Air Bandung. Rose Syrup Drink. Quite a treat.
